The Server is Down!

Well, considering his last game is June 9th (quite the impressive score too) I -think- he was on recently. Lying to the player base even further is just going to make things worse. Since anyone can just easily look up his match history.

But I don't think that should matter. I understand that players may feel lied to, or upset that they didn't get a heads up. Despite no longer playing on NV, I apologize. But we should all remember that Itachi started hosting the server from the start, and if it wasn't for him there would have been no NV in the first place. His connection was flawless, there was never lag. We also have to remember that none of us are paying his bandwith and his electric bill. Like me, he stopped playing NV but still continued to host it so that others may enjoy it. I think that was really nice of him.

If he didn't want to give a public statement, then no one can blame him. I think we should just tip our hats to him. Thank him for the hosting that he provided us, thank him for having the drive to help re-create rules despite working full-time, starting a interesting plot line with the covenant, while also still being a player, an admin, a DM, and dealing with players personal problems. We move on from there. I'm sure he'll pass on the player vault to whoever M decides to make the next host and everyone can go back to what they were doing. But for now, let's not create needless drama.

I will be using a mix of old servers i was given permission to use to create a back-up module for us to play in the mean time, please bare with me while i lump out anything we are not allowed to use and so forth.

^_^; yeah he just logged on and played like three hours after I posted this, to which it was the 4th before that! xD but yeah...uhhh dont know what he has in store for it, if anything *Shrug*

June 6th actually, but it doesn't really make a difference. Like I said before, there shouldn't be any finger pointing because without Itachi we wouldn't have a server in the first place so we should just all be grateful, and give him a nice farewell instead of giving him a bitter send off.

As for what's going to happen. We wait for M to return, as he's currently having internet issues and will be returning soon and I'm sure he'll be deciding on a new host. He already spoke to me about a couple plans that he had. So in the mean time, I'm sorry for the down-time. And we're really thankful for your patience.

They can but we dont have the main server currently, when M is back im sure we will have a new host and a place to play once more, thank you for your patience as Ino has said and i hope you can hang on a little longer.

Well I guess I'm going to ask the question I've not seen asked yet. Has any of the staff been in touch with our former host about getting the vault and the module? I would think that if he doesn't want to host anymore, and I know where he is coming from on this, that he would be willing to give up the server so that those of us who do want to play still can. 

M can sort out who he and the staff wants to host permanently when he gets back but we could use a temp host for now so we can at least play. I don't know about the rest of you but I would like to play again. So can a staff member or Ino see about getting the server at least?

Unfortunatly i dont have contact with Itachi otherwise i would get both server and vault and host myself.

Its a Chiyo typing in west palm beach FL. It took a long while for me to get here, and most of my stuff (comp included) has yet to reach here either. Am using my cousins comp atm to write this, and their net is running in some at&t crap. So I will not be unable to host as of yet. I am sorry for everything going bad for the players, due to irl circumstances for myself, itachi, and others. We hope to be running up again soon. It is difficult to say for me, cuz there are alot more factors than finance atm...

I miss you guys, hope things are going well for all of you. Will PM each of you when the server will be back on its feet. Thanks to Itachi again for hosting and offering his time / money for us! Thanks to you guys too for your patience and understanding and if there is some rage - I wouldnt blame you. Take care and will keep all yous up to date.

Right! i have found somone who can contact Itachi and will be retreiving the vault for me when he is next on, please hang on a little longer.

My internet farted... its back up...

Since no one is on I'm going to take the server down and restart my computer for some needed updates will have it back up in the morning.

Had an unknown BS so I've got to dig into that when I get home to figure out the cause of it. Vault Backup was successful though. Nothing lost as far as I can tell. Let me know otherwise.

On a side note, I just edited my system backup preferences to include several folders in my NWN file and I'm backing up my computer again. In the event of a BSOD I can't recover from I can restore portions of my NWN file. (servervault, local vault, modules, haks, etc...)

I would just have to use my external to perform the system rebuild/reimage and then install NWN. Down time of maybe a few hours if my PC was to explode.

Like I said, I have fail safes on top of fail safes. We won't lose any info/characters/servers again for the short time I have left hosting.  

Just tried to log into my computer from work and got a dead connection. So one of three things has happened... power is out, computer is off, or internet is out. I will check when I go on lunch. Unfortunately that will not be for another 3-4 hours. Sorry if it is down will have it back up asap.
