Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Empty
PostSubject: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeThu Feb 07, 2013 8:53 am

The whilst warm colours began spreading across the sky, a cooling air came over the village of sunagakure. Dusk, the settling of the day into night. Even the ever vigorous monkeys of the Nihano compound were becoming more Benign. Escaping to their huts from the desert cold. All was quiet, the foundry of the clan gave it's last wisps of smoke for the day and the first of the torches were being lit by a helpful old lady. Again it would be a peaceful night in the compound, allowing a middle-aged woman of red haired complexion to pray in front of a large tribute statue to a certain monkey sage.

"15 Times!" The silence shattered. "15 times this week, you've snuck away from your bodyguard! 15 times you've put yourself at risk!"

Hiyo sat on her knees at the table, across from her father, Riken. Her hair pulled into a simple long ponytail and her clothing consisting of her PJs; ready for a night's rest. If her father would stop scolding her. Riken's vein popped on his forehead as he contained a clearly agitated grimace on his face; the normally calm and cool expression wiped away.

"Sorry Daddy..." Hiyo squeaked back, lowering her shoulders a little.

Riken gave an angry, lengthened sigh as he placed palm to face; unable to resist his daughter's cutesy, little act. Boy, she knew how to pull his strings, just like her mother. Still, she had disobeyed him time after time. Losing her designated bodyguard monkey to go do who knows what with god knows who and probably get herself into more trouble like the foam incident at the Inkan compound. It was time to put the foot down...unfortunately. Riken adjusted his tone to be quieter and more personal.

“Look...” he began. “You keep apologizing, yet you keep doing it. It isn't going to work this time. Your guardian is there t-.”

“To make sure I don't get hurt, lost or abducted.” Hiyo interrupted with a solemn little tone. “Yeah, I know.”

The girl shifted her posture slightly to shrink again, perhaps just as a sub-conscious acceptance that she disobeyed the rules. She knew -why- they put this leash on her but she didn't find it fair. How could she question her dad though? He was supposed to know more than her and be super awesome right? Well maybe she was learning more and more than he could be wrong. This time, however, she kept her lips buckled as Riken continued.

“I know it seems, awkward, to have Aklo follow you around but I'm only doing it to protect you when I can't be there.” Riken explained.

Her father stood up and beckoned her with a wave of his hand, leaving through the nearest sliding door.

“Come on, to the dojo, it needs a clean.” He spoke sternly.

“Oooh” Hiyo whined through her nose. “Do I-?”

Riken stopped at the door, looking to her. That was all the inclination she needed to know her father wasn't messing around. Silently, they wandered down the corridors of the Nihano main building, towards the personal training hall of the 'main family' which Riken, Hiyo and her mother were present of. On the way past, Hiyo greeted the red-haired woman from the statue with a solemn 'Hey Mom'. Riken stopped to chat to her a moment as Hiyo walked on ahead. Looks like she'd be going to bed sore tonight after cleaning this big-ass hall. Why did her dad have to do this to her? it's not like she enjoys making him and the clan worry; she just wanted some freedom.

She stepped into the Dojo, large enough to hold a decent sized party or small concert in, with two floors. With a deep, regretful sigh; Hiyo began filling the buckets she'd be using to clean the floor as her father walked in. Hiyo needed to ask him about that holiday to Kumogakure; this was some of the rare time they'd get to spend together outside training and clan duties so she might not get another chance. However, she wasn't exactly in the good books.

“Daddy, I-”

“No working your way out of this, Young lady.” He replied, leaning on the far wall of the dojo, watching her. “Get to scrubbing, the sooner it's clean; the sooner we both get to sleep.”

Hiyo sighed again and easily heaved the full bucket with a cloth; getting to washing the floors. Half an hour passed and she had worked her way through about 1/3rd of the first floor; a little sweat on her brow. She had settled on the plan of making sure the dojo was spotless and shining when she was done. Her father would be so impressed he'd forget she was supposed to be punished and then -BAM- she'd hit him with the question and she'd be home free right?

Riken had gotten bored watching and spoke up.

“You know you're important to the whole clan.” he spoke. “You know you mean so much to your mother and I...she doesn't need the stress of you being missing whilst she's carrying your new sibling.”

Hiyo nodded with a lowered head. Always the guilt put on to her. It always worked to get her into line. Especially when it came to her pregnant mother. Tonight was going to be aweful but she had to soldier through it so he could -earn- getting a proper chance at the holiday she wanted. Riken began wandering over to the opposite side of the hall, through the pace of floor Hiyo had cleaned.

“I better check your Cousin put the equipment away in the proper place.” he muttered under his breath. “You know what he's li-”

Hiyo looked up as she heard a 'Woah~!' and a loud thud on the floor. Riken had slipped and landed on the floor; holding his lower back with a grimace of pain. A string of expletives coming from his mouth. Hiyo's eyes widened gently.

“Daddy!” She exclaimed.

Riken, opened his eyes; looking pained to his daughter. She looked angrily back at him. He looked to he floor, no crack, no mess; why was she angry at him?

“Potty mouth!” She replied afterwards, pointing accusingly.

Her father blinked wide-eyed a moment before giving an admitting chuckle. He head a problem with swearing. One that caused Hiyo to learn a whole bunch of expletives at a young age; Hiyo's mother didn't want the same to happen to the new child so her father had a 'swear jar' or another punishment when he didn't have it nearby. Hiyo pointed continuously giving a noise of 'Got you! Got you!”

Riken stood up, knelt with his daughter and grabbed a spare cloth. Together, they began cleaning the floor; a cheerful, empathic chuckle going between them as they worked together. Quickly, quietly and cheerfully, the floor was being wiped clean; both of them making short work of it.

They sat beside the entrance; both supping on cartons of fruit juice, a slight sweat on their brows collectively. Hiyo felt she was beginning to understand that her father was human, flawed, fallible and ultimately mortal; a deeper warmth rising up in her heart for him as she looked to him with a loving smile.

“What?” Riken replied cluelessly; rubbing at his nose. “I got something on me?”

“Nah, nothing like that.” Hiyo replied, tilting her head. “Just thinking.”

Riken took another large draw from his carton of juice; muffling an 'oh?' and then asking what she was thinking about. Hiyo turned, put down her carton of Juice and grinned confidently to her father.

“Well, Ari-chan had an idea...about a vacation to Kumogakure.”

Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeWed Feb 13, 2013 1:19 am

The storms of the mountain ranges calmly sputtered out in the distant mesas. Clashes of Lighting and rapturous thunder fascinated a young girl; sitting awake in the dead of night. She had never seen rain and storm so common in her life, especially not confined in this massive mountains. Life on the desert plains caught her only the violent torrents of the yearly rains. The girl had not realized rain could be so calm, so soothing and pleasant. It was too bad she couldn't open the window to feel it as well; She'd probably catch a cold. A soft sigh left her lips as Hiyo watched the storms from her bedroom window in the Uchiha complex. This vacation was full of new experiences: good and bad, fun and not so fun, memorable and plain chiselled into her mind. Rather than sleep, like her Suna friends nearby, she couldn't help but think. Today moved so fast, she didn't get time til now.

"I could've died today. I could have bit the big one, sold the farm, travelled to the great beyond, met my maker. Today I faced first real combat and today it shut me down. Big mouth Hiyodori, a little sparrow, good for squawking but put me in front of a bigger bird and I can't deal with it. Maybe this is why the clan want me protected; because I can't do anything on my own."

She sighed outwardly to her thoughts, flopping down on the strange bed; peering across to her friends then back to the window as she watched from under her sheets.

"For all intensity and power these guys gave to that 'politician', I just stood there dumbfounded. Maybe if I had got in to attacking, we wouldn't of been held back and we could've just missed that monster...who ever he was. Maybe if I had done...no. .nah.."

Growing increasingly agitated, she stood up, pulled on her trousers under her sleeping gown then some shoes. she couldn't sleep, so she might as well have used this time for better things; like some training. Her gloves went on as she passed the lonesome training dummies in the compound and soon she opened the front door, quietly closing it behind her so as to not wake up all the people in the house. With a torch lit, she set out to find a nice secluded spot to training; not caring that the rain was soaking her. It was relaxing. Jogging let her think.

"How is it fair that there are people with such strength against us? how is it fair that -we- got saddled with having to deal with them on what was supposed to be a vacation. God I hope my folks aren't to upset or worried.... Maybe if I had some new technique to show them when I got back. They'd see it was a useful trip anyway. I want to see the other villages now. maybe their rain is different."

Soon, out of luck she found the cliff edges, over looking more of this Kumogakure. The nearest building quite some time away. she pulled a water bottle from her satchel and placed it on top of the light source to spread it out for better diffuse illumination. Time to get to work. Perhaps she could work on the advice her mother was giving her on higher level Taijutsu. That technique she had the baboons display was quite vicious looking. Thankfully no animal would be abused for training purposes today.

As the rain fell, Hiyo got to practising. First warming up, then going into the Nihano training kata; a series of movements, attacks and gestures that hammered in the basics of their style. Even at 16, she knew 24 steps of the 30 step long sequence of moves; all down to her Gran-gran Tami. That thought brought a grimace to her, stopping her training momentarily.

"Can I be what she wanted me to be? what did she even tell me? it's been so long..." She pulled her locket from her neck and opened it, a pencil drawing of Tami in her youth years; drawn by Great Granddad Chigetsu. the rain pattered on to the glass briefly. even now as Hiyo lowered her head, her hand shaking.

"Why do I have to be the one? why did you entrust -me-? Gran-gran?" Hiyo sniffed quietly, a few tears leaving her, made redundant in the mass of rain falling. "Why not someone else who could get things done without you?"

Hiyo clutched the pendant tightly, closing it with a light snap. Fruitlessly rubbing at her eyes, alone in an unfamiliar village. The girl sobbed softly. "Why entrust me with your wishes when all I do is lose and lose and lose? Why trust me? when I can't do anything when it matters? why!? when I don't even have the courage to admit something simple like a crush?!"

She held up her pendant to at it, actually shouting vocally to it. "Huh?! why me Gran-Gran?! why put so much pressure on a kid?!"

The girl pulled back her arm, leaning back, threatening to lob her trinket. She hesitated, spluttering, tearing before standing straight again, putting her free hand to the back of her head and slowly shaking her head as if trying to avoid focusing on any thing. Hiyo realized her self, how typically teenage girl she must seem. crying, sobbing over her mistakes; ready to pull her hair out at the slightest bit of hardship? How pathetic it must be....at least the rain was hiding her tears. The girl looked up, soaked to the bone, throwing her pendant to the ground in frustration; with a crack, it snapped in half, spilling it's content. Self-pity washed over her, not deflected by the rain. She really was pathetic, her big talk of grandure and maturity just being a big lie she told to herself and everyone.

Then, Hiyodori noticed something, peering to her broken pendant. The drawing was unfolding, there was more to the small locket. Kneeling down she picked up the sheet of paper and full unfolded it.

"Strange, there are more people around Gran-gran. I thought those lumps were shoulder pads but they're fingers on her shoulder! who-."

her thoughts ran until dripping water soaked the page. She squeaked in fear, quickly scooping up her pendant and it's page. Rushing into a dry patch and unfurling the paper again. "no no no no.. don't soak, don't soak!" she squeaked again, trying to fix it.

The picture was of Tami, in her prime, sitting on a chair with people surrounding her; their hands on her shoulder with a smile. The Kazekage of her time, People she recognised as Tami's mother and father, several people she didn't but there was a detail she couldn't make out. It was all so faintly drawn. Pulling over her torch she inspect it....

People, 100s of them, their arms stretching out and touching Tami's shoulders from leagues away. despite all the smiling faces around tami, her shoulders were depressed, pushed down? were they holding her down? no... Tami-sama always spoke cryptically. Think back to what this might mean...

"They were all leaning on her, all pressuring her to be what they needed..." Hiyo muttered. "She had the weight of the world pressing on her and she didn't crack.."

Hiyo sighed in melancholy; another way Tami was more amazing than her. At a whim, she turned the page over and her eyes widened; a sealing mark and a message.

"A seed will fall from it's parent and land in many places. Some seeds land under the shadow of the parent, some seeds land too far and some seeds land in between. The seeds landing in the shadow of their parent, are choked by the magnitude of their parents and thus never develop to be anything but under. The seeds landing too far, are unhampered, wild, and grow with Hubris, to be harvested by the world. The seeds that land in between, tempered by the size of the parent but unimpeded, grow to good size; so when it comes for the parent to be harvested, they may grow and become more tremendous than the parent. The parent's greatest desire."

Silence struck the girl, these words echoing in her head. The day Gran-Gran died fresh in her head; how she watched life eb away from her as these last words came from her mouth to Hiyo. The tears streaming down her face once again as she pressed her finger to the sealing glyph on the page. From which a large black scroll appeared in a poof of smoke.

Carrying it in both hands, she grimaced up out at the rain and quickly emptied her satchel on to her dry area, giving enough room in it to only store the scroll.

"I.. I think I get it." She muttered to the scroll as she stared at it. "You grew up under the shadows of all these people, felt choked...Like me..and expectation. You knew it would be harder that to just run and do your own thing or just stay safe...so you found an equilibrium..found your own way to live..."

Rubbing her eyes, Hiyo gave a slight chuckle through her crying and picked up the scroll. She could read and study inside, if she was quiet.. she had to know what this last gift from her Gran-gran was. With purpose and pace, Hiyo rushed back to the Uchiha compound. Pieces of her broken pendant in hand.

"I've been to caught up into what I'm thought to be." She thought, grinning. "What people expect me to be.. you knew that would happen Tami-sama.. didn't you?.

The next morning, her friends would find Hiyo passed out in the training call, soaking wet and snoring loudly; injured and bruised to the point of exhaustion. Her black covered scroll safely tucked away in it's satchel.

Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeFri Mar 01, 2013 11:03 am

A cacophony of ape chanting and monkey hooting pervaded the courtyard; the usual din for morning breakfast not stifled by the presence of refugee ninja making their temporary home here. The Nihano clan compound, haven for monkeys in the desert, a slice of oasis, a mote of rest and cooling for Ape kin that stayed here. It's vibrant jungle like tree surrounded the area like a wall having been a gift from the previous monkey king to Tami Nihano for her years of loyalty to the monkey village. Now they served both the monkeys as homes away from home and as a source of food to both them and the Humans. What strange rare delights these Oranges, Bananas and other jungle fruits were. All Nihano were enlisted to help maintain it with the monkey's help, a sign that the friendship their founder had earned was still important to those who lived after her leadership.

This morning, it was Hiyo's turn to take care of their monkey guests. Trudging out with a massive bucket of water balanced on her head, wrapping up in her morning Kimono. A pale pink affair, garnished with designs of oranges; her ever growing hair tied back into a thick tail. She didn't seem happy that she was out here so early.

"I'm always the one covering for Mom in the mornings" Hiyo yawned softly. "Why can't dad or someone else cover for her?"

Standing amidst the jungle trees, Hiyo would call out for bath-time. Many of the monkeys scuttling away in fright. Again, it would be another morning of Cat and Monkey. Today was going to be a long day, especially with the arguement with Satsume playing on her mind. Thankfully, 5 or 6 monkeys leapt down and lined up in an orderly queue. A small sigh of relief came from the girls mouth with this.

"Alright, come on, Monoba, you first." she instructed, looking to the dirtiest monkey first.

The other queued monkeys would probably get bored waiting for their turn eventually, so it was best to just get the dirtiest ones cleaned first before they ran off again. She would get snapped out of her thoughts by a splash of water to her face, Monoba having preformed a Cannonball entry into the barrel. The other 5 monkeys inline holding up peices of bark like they were scoreboards.

"Come on, stop screwing around." Hiyo scolded gently, scrubbing the head of Monoba in the tub. "I don't fed until you guys get fed."

After that, they settled down for a while. Allowing Hiyo to think. How was she going to make it up to Satsume after getting him so angry? she didn't want him to hate her in any way. Maybe if she brought him some oranges? to, you know, keep the pun going; 'Hey Satsuma-kun, I love holding balls of you in my arms.". As if on que, Hiyo placed palm to face.

"Ok, what the hell, brain?" she quietly asked, as two waiting monkeys started slap fighting.

Perhaps, Hiyo thought, she'd play his own game. Get his attention by challenging him to a spar! get him to recognize her by beating him in a fight! that's how you made boys listen to you right? That's at least how Mom got Dad's attention when they were kids. With a determined nod, Hiyo decided on her action, only realizing the monkey she was washing was flailing, it's head under the water.

"Uah! Sorry!" she wailed, yanking the little chimp out of the water. "Sorry! Sorry! I spaced out!"

The now, mostly clean monkey coughed and spluttered as it glared up at Hiyo. It sprayed her with dirty water as it shook it's fur dry. Hiyo recoiled obviously as it splattered her, but she didn't drop the little girl just giving a whine.

"yes yes, sorry, I deserved that." She admited, giving an apologetic smile.

With a rinse, she let that last monkey go, looking to the dirty, white monkey waddling up next in line. Still, the pair at the bad were continuing their saga of 'Slapsies'.

"Something on your Mind Hi-hi-chan?" the white monkey spoke up, clambering into the tub peacefully.

Hiyo got to cleaning this little monkey, like a hairdresser to a client.

"Yeah." Hiyo began, giving a sigh. "I think I screwed things up with Satsuma-kun."

"Oh?" the monkey replied, clearly feminine in voice. "Do tell! Do tell, oo-aah!"

As Hiyo gingerly cleaned this new monkey, she spoke of her problem carefully. Just as she had started rising the white monkey off, she finished her stories.

"You Humans always overcomplicate stuff like this" the monkey shook her head with a sigh.

"Then what do you suggest, Kombisi?" Hiyo retorted, looking mildly annoyed.

The wet monkey jumped on to Hiyo's shoulder and whispered into her ear, her eyes widening as the advice came to her. It sounded weird.. but she'd try it!

Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeThu Apr 04, 2013 10:45 pm

Today was supposed to be a day for her glorious, friend filled return to Sunagakure. Events conspired against her though; the news of a dead friend. Someone she had promised to help and protect. Kitestu, killed by some Boushi character when she wasn't even there to help. Satsume had comforted her earlier but the sour mood was boiling over in the Normally cheery Hiyo. She ducked past the greeting of her father and took to the more remote parts of the Nihano compound. She needed some time to work out her frustration. Was this punishment for choosing Shirumi over him? No, she couldn't think that way. It was just poor luck of the Draw.

A loud snap, a heavy crunch and a whince were the first few noises she made as she stood alone; burying the knuckles of her gauntlet into a tree. The monkey that was subsequently shaken out had tried to protest; it decided against this. Rather wisely, stepping back and finding a new tree as Hiyo simmered with a bairly bridled Rage. Her first friend lost, her first dear loss from battle. She had no hand it yet her idiot heart tore itself a part in Guilt. She promised to help and protect him right? When he had that episode that she ran almost half a day to find him.

A growled swear left her lip as she pounded the tree once more and pushed off it; taking a few calming breaths to stem the bubbling vitrol growing in a negative feedback loop towards whom ever had taken Kitetsu's life. Tensing her arms in a curved posture, she executed a deep exhale to center her mind and body; a technique taught early by the Nihano. Hiyo figured that balance would at least bring control easier to her temper.

Ten minutes past, she was no calmer; the grinding of her teeth a clear indication. She knew she couldn't let herself linger so long on such a potent anger and so she took to the remote area in the compound she had cordoned off as her little training area and hooked up the toughened, weighted punching bag amoungst some trees. The rythmic pounding of her fists to the toughened leather echoing through the area of the honoured court. There was no mercy for this bag; it bent and deformed with her punches as did the trees that held it up. At least here she was getting used to punching with the added weight of her combat gloves on.

"It's not often you're angry..this much. Hiyo." An elder voice spoke from behind.

Hiyo panted, looking over her shoulder, her Great Aunt, Kayouko having stepped up to inspect the loud pounding coming from this place.

"Kay-oba" She sighed, putting her hands on her hips as she tried to catch her breath. "I...

With a dip of her brow, she looked to the ground and finished her words.

"I..just...learnt.. a friend of mine was murdered.."

"Your First?" The aunt empathically reached forward, touching the young woman's shoulder.

"Y-yeah...I.. was pretty sweet on him too." Hiyo admited. slouching over. A slow, lethargic pat of her fist to the punching bag accompanied that.

"It might be a reality too common in years to come." The aunt expressed with a short sigh, turning Hiyo around to hug her. "but...it'll be ok.. so long as you don't harden up because of it."

Hiyo clutched back on to her aunt, having worked out on her frustation on the punching bag. The mental pain and frustration would not leave so quick. At least now she wouldn't be keen to rush of on some revenge mission. That fire still burned in her, if malaised by grief for the moment.

For the time, Hiyo remained with her Aunt, in attempts of comfort.

PostSubject: Re: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeThu May 02, 2013 7:22 pm

Past months have been agony for the Nihano clan. An endless anxiety as their heir, Hiyo, Lay in coma; rendered helpless and weak by a mysterious disease. Some clan mates blamed the infamous curse on their clan whilst many waited for the doctor's diagnosis. So severe was her suffering that the hospitial induced a coma to save her life. After many tests and many attempts, they figured out what was killing the young ninja.

A form of auto-immune disorders that brutalized her out of commission. Still, dilligently working at the girl, Suna's medical teams managed to get her back to enough health to wake her up. Still, here will be a long recovery until she can get back to fighting spirit.

Even then, left behind by her generation in terms of skill, will she ever come back from this 'curse'?

Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeWed May 15, 2013 4:28 pm

Stretching and Straining, a foot balanced precariously on a tipped chair. The balanced frame of a young woman reached outward, keeping her body stable on this precarious position. Large bottles of water were tied to her arms, two a piece; weighting her down as she tried to maintain herself with. Her tongue sticking out in a gesture of effort. She stared at the clock, watching the seconds tick by.

“Come on, only 30 more seconds...” Hiyo encouraged through a small pant and grunt. “30 more and it's snack time!”

Illness be damned, Hiyo was going to get some training to restore her skill. Books and games had long lost their distraction value between tests and medication. The fact she had heard down the grape vine that a tournament was happening only spurred her on. She had been caught before in her mini-training sessions and quickly lectured about how she needed to rest so she could be fixed. Hiyo had made the decision however, she was going to compete, sickness or not. In her efforts, she barely noticed the knock at the door and the man's voice calling in. With an agile back-flip off the chair, she tossed it back into it's spot and landed inside her open bathroom door; Stowing the bottles away for safe keeping.

“Miss Nihano?” called her doctor, drawing his coat past the divider between the door and the room. “don't tell me you've left aga-”

He interrupted himself as Hiyo stepped out of her bathroom, feinting a yawn, the sound of a flushing toilet being locked in there as the door slide shut. The blonde woman slipped back into her hospital bed, giving him a friendly smile.

“Good Morning, Doc.” She greeted with her usual saccharine charms.

“Morning, I would love to chat with you, Hiyo-chan but my morning is busy.” He smiled back, checking her medical chart at the end of her bed. “What did you need me for?”

“Well, I got a question.” Hiyo revealed. “It's nothing major... I just wanted to know how possible it would be for me to go back to training very soon.”

The doctor cocked his brow, looking over her chart once more before looking back up at her. This Aging doctor had been the one that gave Hiyo her vaccinations as a baby and had seen her rise up through the deep depression her great-grandmother's death had caused. He knew she was not one to be stopped now when she had her mind on something. With a deep sigh, he sat down on the bed.

“Hiyo dear, I would not recommend it.” He softly replied, patting her hand.

“Yes yes but is it possible?” She asked, giving a small frown.

He would nod gently, giving it some more thought. A way to answer her to gain the best of both needs for healing and her wants.

“It could be.” He began. “You would have to start very easy on yourself initially to get your body used to working again. Then slowly progress upwards or downwards as your sickness allows you. Why do you ask?”

Hiyo winced at the question; leaning back a little and looking aside as she spoke.

“Well um, I kind of want to enter a tournament I heard was happening pretty soon.”

The doctor frowned and put a palm to his face at this news; a small groaning coming from her. It wasn't his place to dictate to her how to act after all; He was just to get the girl healthy again. The only thing he had to go on were facts, he supposed so he'd give her them. She was intelligent enough to understand.

“My answer stands. I would not recommend it.” He nods. “Any injury or cut will take longer to heal and have increased infection rates due to your condition. The stress and intense chakra use could throw back your recovery for months.”

Hiyo would look down contemplatively. A soft silence in the room for some seconds. A sip of the drink of water clearing the lump in her throat whilst the girl thought of her reply.

“Do you believe in Curses?” She asked softly.

“I believe in chakra causing many lasting effects.” He replied. “but not superstition.”

“Ditto, but you know the supposed Nihano curse.” She grinned softly. “I decided whilst I was asleep that I'd break it. Even if it was just a self-fulfilling dread.”

“You..'decided' whilst you slept?” He queried confusedly.

“Yeah, Like dreaming. I spent a lot of time with Great-gran Tamiteko during the time. She taught me a lot.”

Hiyo would lean forward, taking another drink of water before continuing to speak.

“She told me this 'curse' was just a self-fulfilling side-effect of their grief...amongst other things. But I'm going to turn this curse into a blessing.” She grinned. Leaning back again.

“By nearly killing yourself a tournament.?” The doctor replied in a moderately heart-broken manner.

“It's more than me just fighting for the sake of fighting.” She beckoned the doctor closer

Once he was in range, Hiyo checked the room briefly for listeners before whispering into his ear. A long phrase being given to the doctor. Afterwards, they leant away from one another, A dumbfounded look on his face whilst Hiyo gave a confident grin. Blinking back to her, he smirked and nodded.
“Alright, Hiyo-chan..you've twisted my arm.” He patted her hand, standing up to leave again. “As much as I recommend against it... I'll do my best to ease the condition during your training and tourny. If it's that important to you.”

With that, The doctor gently shut the door and Hiyo sat up in bed, wrapping herself in the sheets turning on her radio low. There, she sat and meditated On a lesson she had in her dream state of a coma. A new technique to master without the need to stress her body. Her chakra flowed around her, spurred on by her doctor's acceptance of her choice. If only her parents were going to be that east to convince.

Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeMon May 20, 2013 10:48 am

Two fighter towered across the mat from one another; stretched wide in a mirrored stance. One, a young blonde girl, the other, a mid-aged dark haired man. They squared off, intensely glaring at one another underneath an off-white, cloth tarp breaking the heavy sunlight of the desert. Many Monkeys watched in awe and anticipation of these two ninja waiting for a cue to do battle.

"Your Move, Hi-chan." The man smirked.

"No, -your- move." The girl replied with an earnest eagerness.

"Why don't you -both- go?" An older woman's voice called out in a flat boredom.

The pair of fighters slouched over, the mood ruined by Jiori, Hiyo's mother. Whom currently was nursing a rather young babe against her breast. As bored as she pretended to be, Jiori took delight from the 'spar' that her first born and her husband were having. A reminder of 'normal' times before Hiyo fell so desperately Ill. It was a peace of mind she had missed. Funny how violence between father and daughter felt 'normal' and 'heart-warming'. Jiori couldn't help but give an outward chuckle to her inward thoughts.

"Well, regardless someone's interruption, I think it's time we reviewed what I taught you, Girl." Riken shook his head, standing straight again and walking over to Hiyo.

From there, her father adjusted her stance from the side. Widening her feet, Adjusting her arm height.

"Uh... what's the name of this again?" She asked with a small nervous chuckle.

Riken learnt over in disbelief of his daughter before clearing his throat to speak. As he scolded her for not listening properly, another figure arrived on the scene. A young man dressed in the uniform of the Sunagakure Medical teams. He sat down by Jiori and the babe. Giving a short nod in greeting.

"Don't lecture me! just tell me the name!" Hiyo protested to her father.

"What cheek!" Riken scolded back. "I didn't teach you to be this rude!"

The medic and Jiori shared a laugh between one another. Hiyodori and Riken breaking into another tussle of sparring.

"They're certainly full of energy." The medic commented.

"Deffinately." Jiori smiled softly, looking down to her child. "We're starting to feel like a family again."

The medic chuckled and gave his finger to the babe, the tiny boy grabbing it. "I'm sure Ahiru enjoys it too."

Hiyo and Riken barreled off into the orange orchards with their spar; much to the protests of the other Nihano working there. Suddenly, with a heavy grunt, Riken was thrown to the floor with Hiyo sitting on his back, curling her father's arms up into his back.

"Hah! Pinned you!" She said triumphantly. "Now tell me the name of the jutsu!"

Riken feinted pain to the grip, smirking gently over to the nearest relative. Putting the pained act back on, Riken would Wince out.

"Ack! It's the Crane stance!"

With that Hiyo chuckled and stood up from her father, dusting herself down. With a blink, Hiyo spotted the medic sitting with her mother and waved to him. The medic waved back with an equal cheer as the girl and stood up as she jogged over.

"Hey Hi-chan, time for your check-up. Nice to see you being so active again." He grinned down to her.

"Thanks Isumaru, it's good you're here.."

Hiyo coughed, slightly nervous, turning to look to her assembled close family as she prepared her statement.

"There's a tournament happening soon..." She muttered. "I'm joining it."

Both Parents looked shocked at this, The medic whincing a little....

Today would be a long day.

Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeSat May 25, 2013 3:10 pm

"I can't sit here and let you risk your life for no good reason!" Riken almost begged, his eyes on his daughter, Hiyo.

The young woman stepped away from the decimated punching bag ahead of her and looked to her father; a soft pant on her lips. She had revealed to them her intention of signing up to a local tournament within the week and whilst she expected a protest towards that decision, she hadn't thought that it would be this long and persistent. Still, something in her mind made her feel guilt towards her parents as opposed to anger or defiance; perhaps her poor empathic sense towards her own clan was getting in the way again. Regardless of this, she had decided to meet their protests with in difference since they had no authority to stop her going after her doctor gave her the all clear.

"Is it dinnertime soon?" Hiyo asked politely, wiping some sweat from her body. "I haven't had Hayashi Rice in a long time."

"Don't change the subject, Hiyo." Her father scolded. "You can't keep running away from talking about this."

She frowned giving a small groan when he spoke to her like that. Everyone in this compound was talking to her like she was still fresh out of the academy. Condescension, Patronization, underestimation; All things she felt target of by the people she was supposed to trust the most. Good thing she had so many friends in her life that weren't tainted in knowing her profoundly as a child. Hiyo looked her father in the eyes; he looked her back and their stared each other door for sometime. At least until an older woman's voice called them in for dinner.

"One Moment Mo-" Riken stuttered, quickly being interrupted.

"Before it's cold!" Riken's mother yelled back.

Hiyo tried not to smirk; clearly failing as soon as her father turns with her following behind. The whole close family of Hiyo's line assembled within the dining room, arranged around the low table with a large pot of rice accompanied with a beef dish in a red sauce. Those present included, Riken, Jiori, Hiyo, Kijuki and the newest member of the Nihano clan, Ahiru; whom was taking the time to kick his legs on the floor beside Jiori. They ate quietly over this meal; only a few comments of 'it's delicious' being passed to Riken's mother. Hiyo was overcome with a sense of dread and awkwardness.

"How goes your training, Hiyo?" Kijuki enquired with a small smile on her lips.

Caught a little off-guard; Hiyo looked to her Grandmother with a strip of beef hanging from her lips; A confused grunt coming from her. Slurping it up, chewing and swallowing; Hiyo prepared and answer.

"Really great! I'm starting to feel as strong as I used to." Hiyo boasted. "Many even more so than before."

Kijuki nodded gently with an approving smile as she went to eat again; only to roll her eyes at her son, Riken.

"You might feel great now but getting yourself injured and beaten down will only get you an infection...you aren't in the clear yet." Riken explained in a pleading manner.

Jiori remained silent to this, acting as if it wasn't even happening; Ahiru giggling to himself on the ground.

"I told you before Tou-san, that's my choice to make." Hiyo rebuked, frowning slightly.

"It's my duty as your father to protect you from mistakes that you might make through youth!" he quickly returned, briefly quietening with a slice of beef in his mouth.

Hiyo placed her hand to her face at that; giving a soft groan to that. pushing her half full bowl infront of her. Her family looked at her confused; how could -Hiyo- turn down Kijuki's food?

"Listen!" Hiyo snapped towards her father before catching herself and taking a deep breath.

"L-listen, everyone..." Hiyo began again, much more calm and collected. "I know that nearly losing me frightened you. I understand that you only want to protect me but you're just taking it to the extreme now..."

Folding her arms and leaning on to the table; her family stunned into silence.

"This tournament is about more than just fighting for fighting's sake. More than just trying to catch up to friends." She paraphrased what her parents said they 'thought' she was trying to do. "I wouldn't be so wreckless with my -life-, I've asked so many doctors and they think I could do it if I was watched over by medical staff. I've made preparations and trained carefully to not exasperate my condition."

Hiyo looked to her father with a small glare.

"But it doesn't seem to be enjoy...some of you are too blinded by this stupid 'curse' that keeps cropping up now and again." She cletches a fist. "I keep telling you that a run of bad luck and circumstance is not some bullshit curse!"

"Hiyo, language!" Riken chimed in. "regardless, if you understand how much we're worried then why can't you just drop it. There will be other tournaments we're you're not so weak."

Hiyo gave a mild growl at that; pounding her fist to her table.

"I have a nindo to protect!"

Riken again scolded her for being so bold, Jiori scolding Riken for getting so loud and riled up around Ahiru. Kijuki just looked rather suprised at Hiyo. Arguments spread between the parents and Hiyo even as Ahiru started crying.

"Enough!" Kijuki shouted, quietening the group.

Jiori went to pacify Ahiru as Riken and Hiyo fumed quietly at one another.

"You said you had a Nindo to protect?" Kijuki asked.

Hiyo looked straight into her grandmothers eyes.

"Yeah! I figured it out not long after I woke up in the hospitial."

Kijuki merely gestured to her father with an expression that suggested to elaborate.

Hiyo's angry glare was diluted by a small blush as she was asked but after a few stuttered attempts she spoke.

"To break the hold of any so called 'curse' any person or person's may suffer." She begun. "To protect then liberate them so they can grow as seeds outside the shadow of their mother tree."

Silence came over the family, except for the snivelling Ahiru; this persisted well past the meal being finished. Hiyo stood washing dishes as the three adults digested out on the porch of their home in the setting sun.

"Hiyo.." Riken dismayed, getting leant on his wife.

"I suppose this is why Hiyo has been acting so strange..." Jiori replied.

"She's been indecisive since my mother passed away" Kijuki muttered, not looking up from the scroll she read. "from that perspective I do beleive it would be strange. She always clinged to her for advice. Maybe our little Sparrow is growing up; tournament or not."

Riken and Jiori looked up to Kijuki with a cock of the brow; then looked to one another thoughtfully nodding.

"I suppose she is growing up...to find your nindo is a big step.. risking life and injury to protect it is another." Jiori stated to her husband.

Riken groaned gently to himself, realizing what they were implying. He looked at them both, motioning to speak but their glances at him stopped him.

"Fine.. I'll tell her!" He grumbled pulling himself to his feet.. Walking back into the house, Yelling for Hiyo.

The two ladies on the porch then chuckled between each other as they her their young girl Hiyo squeal out of delight.

"I wonder how Ri-kun will react when he finds out about her boyfriend." Jiori chortled out.

Both the grandmother and mother chuckled between one another. The night ending on a joyful tone.

"Of course not."

Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs   Hiyodori Nihano - The State of Affairs Icon_minitimeFri May 31, 2013 10:21 am

"I'm proud of you." Riken spoke warmly.

Those words send a rather energetic butterfly fluttering around her stomach as Hiyo's father hugged her. Just a few minutes ago she was nearing begging him to teach her a new technique before the last rounds of the tourney started. She leant back from her father after he let go; giving a little fake frown.

"To think you wanted me to hide away from this." She pouted.

Riken laughed as she put an arm over her shoulder and walked with her towards the outside of their housing into the open grass garden. Hiyo kept her pouty, annoyed expression at her father. How could he be so jolly and accepting if not a week ago he was ready to severely punish her for even thinking of joining the tournament. With her arms folded, she held her tongue; Not wanting to get into an argument as her father was going to train her some more. As the door was slid open for them, Riken continued to speak.

"Oh, don't be like that, Hi" Riken chuckled again afterwards. "I've already said that your mother and I were mistaken after that first round performance."

"I guess." Hiyo grumbled, folding her arms. "but you haven't -apologized-."

Riken cocked a brow to his daughter whilst pulling on a pair of padded training gloves in tandem to her. Why was Hiyo being this bratty? did the apology mean so much to her? even it did she wouldn't be getting it. However, he couldn't help but feel terrible for how he had treated her over the last month whilst she had been awake. Then again, it wasn't anyone's fault. Hiyo had always been taught to never let any sadness or affliction slow you down if you can manage it; to always push to be her best without sacrificing humanity or health. Riken was just the typical protective father, looking to make sure he didn't out-live his first-born. Both stubborn and focused on what they were trying to do. With a little sigh, he finished tying his gloves.

"Perhaps we have nothing to apologize for?" He questioned softly, calmly.

Hiyo was stretching her limbs at this point, rather quickly annoyed by that saying. He had kept her locked up for a whole month, a prisoner of her own family after he had -promised- to let her go free and now he says the family doesn't have anything to apologise for? In protest Hiyo's mouth opened but her father quickly cut her off by saying.

"before you say something stupid, Young Lady." Riken grins warmly to his daughter. "Just...think for a second what we were going through."

Hiyo closed her mouth and looked to the side. A typical reminder that her parents gave her; a necessary reminder to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Quickly it came to her as her brow and expression dipped into a saddened apologetic look.

"You're all scared of losing me after what happened with my diease." She sighed. "I keep risking myself by sneaking out... Mama was having complications with Ahiru..all stress."

Riken nodded knowingly; he tried his best not to be smug about this; he'd much rather have prefered them both being on the same page.

Hiyo went silent for a moment before hopping into her taijutsu stance; blowing a mildly frustrated raspberry.

"F-fine then.." She begun. "I'm sorry I worried everyone."

Riken waved his hand dismissively; giving her another warm, loving smile.

"You don't need to apologize either.. as long as you understand." he comforted her, stretching his hands gently.

"We can move on now. Be happy again, with you healthy, your mother healthy and Ahiru finally with us.. ok?"

Hiyo grinned with a little tear in the corner of her eye although she quickly shook it away...it was time to be awesome! not emotional!

"Ok, let's see how far you can push Takai Gosei." Riken grinned, putting up his dukes.
