The DM-rights hand-book

Naruto Verse is a roleplaying world based off Naruto’s setting, however with an Alternate history. As such the staff contents itself in seeing to that the players reach their goals and enjoy their experience as much as possible and in the hopes to give the closest Naruto setting-feeling to the community. To reach this goal, the staff has a set number of codes and rights which are to be conformed by the players in hopes that the team can make a competent and detailed work. The following is a list of the rules/rights a staff-member has, which are to be understood and abided by the player populace.

1. About General Roleplay

  • 1.1: A DM has the right to log onto the client and monitor roleplay; awarding this last as seen fit by the staff member.

  • 1.2: A DM has the right to log onto the client and possess a NPC to interfere with any form of scene he or she stumbles by, as long as the NPC in question fits the scene’s background and is not specific to another DM’s domain.

  • 1.3: A DM has the right to possess any secondary or background NPCs to enhance the player’s experience during his/her game time.

  • 1.4: A DM Has the right to question a current scene he/she stumbles on, and possess NPCs to correct it if applicable/needed.


2. About Events

  • 2.1: A DM has the right to run an event and involve as many players in the event as he/she wishes; always players that are willing to partake of an event.

  • 2.2: A DM Has the right to bend mechanic rules to a lesser degree, if this will enhance the roleplaying experience and uniqueness of the on-going event and its participants, always keeping into account that the modification does not affect a player’s character in a too drastic way.

  • 2.3: A DM Has the right to make a calling upon any Jutsu utilised in the event he or she runs, voiding its usage if deemed so.

  • 2.4: A DM Has the right to expulse a character from an event; always keeping in mind that there must be a valid reason for the action.

  • 2.5: A DM Has the right to ask politely a player to wait for either the end of an event for a complaint, or to contact him/her via forum PMs. Should this fail and result in the continuation of harassment via tells, the DM reserves the right to boot the player from the server for the remainder of his/her event.

  • 2.6: A DM reserves the right to boot a player from the server for a small period of time should the player be a constant nuisance to the progression of the on-going event.

  • 2.7: A DM reserves the right to investigate a character’s biography for about any reason, as well as question the player in question about any doubts the staff member might have concerning anything regarding his/her character.

  • 2.8:A DM has the right to request a personal event party formed from the event participants.


3. About rules

  • 3.1: A DM has the right to enforce rules, in all levels. This ranges from the removal/addition of items, levels, tokens or any other form of action backed by either the verdict of a punishment or a Global regulation.


4. About purchases

  • 4.1: A DM has the right to ‘sell’ an approved ability, bloodline, tool, statistic, jutsu, or any other sort of pre-approved asset to a player as long as this one has the required tokens to pay for it and that the purchase in question does not need to be made by a specific staff member.

  • 4.2: A DM Has the right to sell generic purchases to players; such as default ninja bag tools.

  • 4.3:A DM reserves the right to refuse the purchase of an asset should the player be ‘short’ on tokens, or the DM in question unsure of the price, if the request in question is still going through its Voting period, or any other reason that might cause hesitation staff-side.

  • 4.4: A DM has the right to refund characters.


5. About DMs player-side

  • 5.1: A DM has the right to log in player side and play as a normal player would.

  • 5.2: A DM player-side has the right to refuse to deal with anything staff-related, unless it is something of an urgent nature such as a character stuck in an area, or other type of cases in which a DM’s intervention is ultimate.

  • 5.3: A DM player-side has the right to declare himself/herself unavailable to anything staff-related, this means he/she reserves the right to receive no tells about staff-related issues, or issues of other nature.


6. About Server-wide parties

  • 6.1: A DM reserves the right to request for OOC idle party chatter to cease during events.


7. About alternate Media

  • 7.1: A DM reserves the right to not discuss DM-related material, over any medium that is not through a Forum PM, or when performing QCCR on the Server.

Naruto Verse is a roleplaying setting based off, in grand majority, what the players make of it. The players run most of the world, in other words, shape it with what they do and see to its general wellness, the players are the most important assets of the setting, as such, the following is a list of rights a player has, to enhance their experience in the server and prosperity with the staff of NV.

1. About Character creation

  • 1.1: A player has the right to create a character of any playable village.

  • 1.2: A player has the right to have their current character become a Missing Ninja; always taking into account the risks of undergoing such a path.

  • 1.3: A player has the right to create about any form of character; always keeping in mind characters with special abilities such as Clan, Bloodline, Tailed beast, or any form of extraordinary, superb, or exotic ability that is not comprised within the ‘common’ character; needs pre-approval by the members of NV’s staff before the character’s creation.

  • 1.4: A player has the right to ask a DM for starting assets, such as rank items, OOC gold for cloth editing, starting levels, etc.

  • 1.5: A player has the right to start off as an Academy student, or Genin. In case of a special case, it must be first pre-approved by the members of the staff.

  • 1.6: A player has the right to request a specific background, clan, bloodline or anything that does not fall under ‘common’ for a character via a forum PM to a staff member.

  • 1.7: A player has the right to resend, or inquire about  any pending requests after a week(7) of no news from a staff member, preferably via a forum PM. This applies to any sort of request.


2. About Jutsu

  • 2.1: A player has the right to start off with all Academy jutsu learned, in case of starting off as a Genin.

  • 2.2: A player has the right to learn jutsu, always respecting rank, limit, and mod regulations.

  • 2.3: A player has the right to request a custom ability or technique via a PM to a staff member.

  • 2.4:A player reserves the right to resend an already approved request to the staff for reconsideration on any modification to the former request.


3. About Events

  • 3.1: A player has the right to participate in DM-run events.

  • 3.2: A player has the right to join in on-going DM events as long as their appearance/entrance makes sense.

  • 3.3: A player has the right to question once a DM’s action/decision in an event.

  • 3.4: A player has the right to demand a private conversation with the DM of the event after this one has ended, either via In-game or forum PMs.

  • 3.5: A player has the right to leave on-going DM-run events; always keeping in mind that sometimes, depending on the event, In-character consequences might be applicable.

  • 3.6: A player has the right to send a complaint to a DM about a specific DM behaviour, preferably with a screenshot for the material proof.


4. About Purchases

  • 4.1: A player has the right to make generic purchases, such as levels, default ninja bag tools, uncommon elemental chakra natures, professions, statistics and any other kind of purchase which does not need pre-approval from the staff; as long as he/she has the tokens for it.

  • 4.2: A player reserves the right to make the purchase of any pre-approved request, as long as this one has received the notice from a DM via forum PM.

  • 4.3: A player reserves the right to refund a character.


5. About server-wide Parties

  • 5.1: A player has the right to partake in a server-wide party.

  • 5.2: A player reserves the right to travel from a point to the other to interact with members of a server-wide party, always keeping in mind this action must have In-character reason to happen.

  • 5.3: A player has the right to idle chatter in between one another through party-chat.

  • 5.4: A player has the right to make his own personal party along with other players.

  • 5.5:The creator/leader of a party reserves the right to kick another player from his/her party.

  • 5.6:A player has the right to leave any party if he/she so wishes. The only exception to this being an event-party in which a DM strictly needs a party to work accordingly.

The DM-Duties Hand-book

Naruto verse’s staff is hired to ensure that the world ran by the players (mostly) remains prosper, and under order. As such the following is a list of the ‘public’ duties of a DM that must be kept true at all times.

1. About General Etiquette

  • 1.1: A DM must remain polite at all times when dealing with a player in any Out-of-character way.

  • 1.2: A DM will listen once to the complaint/concern of a player regarding any action committed during general roleplay, events or any other interaction In-game or Out-of Character.

  • 1.3:   A DM will never refuse to explain himself/herself after refusing something to a player. The only exception to this will be when he/she does not know of the reasons behind the refusal, danger of revealing an In-character clue, or other natured reasons that warrant the action.

  • 1.4: A DM will always first warn a player of an incoming action such as disciplinary measures, or other types of actions which directly affect a player/character.

  • 1.5: A DM will never refuse to discuss a topic via PMs, unless the subject of the conversation does not fall within the specific DM’s domain of expertise.

  • 1.6: A DM will never refuse a request for a purchase as long as the player in question has clearance to buy the specific purchase. For a request which needed pre-approval, it must have first been approved and verified the player has received the updated version of his/her request and a price.

  • 1.7: A DM is a simple player when online as a player, therefore he will abide and agree to the player rights/duties handbooks.

  • 1.8:A player will not ignore any abilities/techniques/item effects from another player in any way as long as the subject has been purchased.

  • 1.9: A player will not force any sort of situation on another character, this includes any type of harassment of an adult nature.

  • 1.10: A player will keep OOC to a minimum at all times, unless he/she is in the OOC-lounge area.
