COMBAT RULES - 5 / 7: TRAITS

5. TRAITS

Traits must be 1 Physical, 1 Mental, and 1 Spiritual. You cannot have 2+ of the same 'type' of trait. Each character starts with 1 trait and may gain 2 additional traits of different 'types' as they progress in their shinobi's career.

CUSTOM TRAITS
Creating your own trait is easy. First you must state if it is Physical, Mental, or Spiritual. It must go along with your character, and must also be sent into the DM team for approval. Use these traits as guidelines. As you can see, there aren't many in combat traits. That's because that is what innates are for. Traits are usually used for out of combat situations. These are meant to just be fun, little key qualities to make your character stand out a tiny bit more. So please do keep that in mind. Have fun with it!

PHYSICAL TRAITS

GYMNAST - Someone as flexible as you is easily able to out-maneuver most people. Being a acrobat has allowed you to remain nimble and good on your feet allowing your character to get +1 to dexterity rolls and +10 to tumble rolls out of combat when it comes to acrobatic like abilities.

LIGHT FRAME - Your character steps softly, garnering +10 to hide/ms rolls out of combat due to their innate ability to move quietly and hide.

KLUTZ - Trip; bam. Your character struggles to not injure themselves or others by accident on a daily basis. You’re highly accident prone, but sometimes that can work in your favor. Whenever you roll a 1 in any physical roll outside of combat, you may re-roll to have your failure cause something "accidental" to happen as well.

THUG - You are known for beating people up for no good reason, all depending upon your day as is. You're a bully, crude, or just flat out intimidating. You know the streets, and you're one hell of a gangster. Because of that, people may want to think twice before crossing you, bad ass. +10 to intimidation rolls.

ALL MUSCLE - You are large, bulky and strong, able to stand against a heavy blow or overwhelming forces far easier than most smaller or weaker individuals, though this also means you're a bit slower to get moving. When rolling out-of-combat to lift things, arm wrestle, or just over all show just how strong you are. You get a +2 to your strength rolls.

ELEGANT MOVEMENT - Every step you make, is like a dance in itself, you make most shinobi look slow, and without finesse. When you move, others watch and admire your grace. +10 to perform rolls out of combat.

LOUD MOUTH - YOU'RE LOUD! And because your never able to shut up your also easily spotted! But his constant huffing and puffing has made his lunge capacity greater then average. Giving someone of your choice -10 to concentration checks out of combat.

GOOD LOOKING - You're sexy and you know it. You can't help that you're just naturally good looking and that people are going to stare, right? Because of that, you recieve +2 to charisma checks out of combat when you are rolling to see just how pretty you are!


MENTAL TRAITS


THE BRAIN - You're quick and clever with your mind, there's no problem that can't be solved by your keen intillect! Spending most of your time studying, learning and considering every detail makes you clever, but not always the best at quick responses when the action starts.
+10 to lore when it comes to history, or facts about the world you live in.

STUDIOUS - Spending all your time in the books has given you more knowledge than a normal individual could handle. Your increased mental functions have given you a knack for learning new things, at the downside of making you less physically inclined. +2 to learning rolls

PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY - Every now and again someone comes along with the rare ability to memorise things based on their first look; able to recall even the most minute detail with a thought. With your character’s ability to retain information in this fashion, you’re capable of automatically learning a jutsu by watching it once per week at the cost of 1 jutsu/week
NOTE: Only up to C-rank jutsus can be learned by using photographic memory, and does not work with any hidden/forbidden jutsu. Follows jutsu learning/week cap rule.

ISOLATED - You prefer your own lands more than any others, a brave defender of your nation? When in your homelands, you rechieve +10 to Hide out of combat. However if you decide to travel outside of your own common grounds, you will recieve -10 Move silently out of combat.

PRODIGY - Everyone wishes that they are the best of the best; born with an innate talent that helps them succeed in life. You’ve struck gold in this area, being a prodigy among your family and peers. You get a +5 in all skill rolls, but as a result.. you’re still pretty awesome. [Cannot be picked as first Trait]

COWARD - You're a coward! And as a result you're extremly Quick to the exit when dangerous situations arise. You get +3 to escape rolls once per fight, but if you fail your trembling knee's will give you -4 to all rolls for 2 rounds.

INFORMANT - Through ways that are only your own, you tend to know way more than the average nin should. In information exchange scenarios, you gain a +10 to lore checks when it comes to knowing about people, clans, bloodlines, wanted criminals, or even reknown famous ninja. However people tend to trust you less as a result.


SPIRITUAL TRAITS

HERO - You are not afraid to protect people other than yourself, if necessary and if death is close you might still stand up to protect a friend, ally, lover! You get can defend someone as a free action but take +2 damage due to your recklessness

SNAP CASTER - You're quick with your hands, able to form seals or perform sleight of hand as easy as someone else might snap their fingers - and while you may be fast with finesse this sometimes leaves you somewhat lacking in power.
+10 to Pickpocket / Sleight of Hand rolls and +1 to learning ninjutsu

HONOR BOUND - A person bound by a strict and self-imposed set of standards, your character seeks to bring honor to himself and his adversaries. Everything you do is fair and just; you gain +5 HP added to your health while fighting 1v1, but are unable to use traps or sneak attacks as a result.

WARY SHADOW - Though your days are spent in the dark corners of the world, you’re character has still developed a near paranoia that keeps them constantly aware of their surroundings, This character earns a +10 to spot/listen rolls out of combat, allowing them to find tricky traps or those hiding around him!

BENEVOLENT - You have a kind soul and bring peace and happiness wherever you go. Your gentleness lowers your damage output one rank, but allows your allies the opportunity to defend you as a free action once per round.

SUICIDAL - You are a maniac, having little to no regard for your own life either cause you don't care about or don't fear death. Able to attack with full force without the normal restraints and concerns of your own harm like most. People who roll intimidation against you take a -10. If you don't fear death, how will you fear them?
