Event Series RP - Land of Grass

OOC: This topic is for RP concerning the events I run in game to keep my plot organized and for me to keep an eye on research as well as personal development in the events I run. Posts here will be rewarded the standard token amount for forum RP, but they might also give you more information as to the events going on as well as vital points to help you.

The Land of Grass has been peaceful on the surface as of current events. The Covenant has taken over leadership of The Hidden Village of Grass and it's shinobi have been working for what appears to be trade security. However, the surface of the book hides the horrors beneath. What will be discovered in this chapter of the history of the world? What is the Covenant doing? All to be discovered.

*As Conall got the orders from the ranking Kumogakure shinobi he only had one comment* "This is such a dull assignment..." *He then went as requested to Grass country and began to wander around, attempting to stay out of sight, as he kept an eye out for anything he found suspicious. Occasionally he even used his Shadow Clones to help monitor some areas when needed, he would remain there until he got what he was after.*

Conall would be intrigued to see that Grass Country trade seemed to be booming, carts of wares coming, and carts of wares going from the general area of Kusagakure. He'd have to be careful if he was to venture further into Grass Country, as it would be highly dangerous, way too dangerous for a Genin as the Covenant had control of Kusagakure. Most peculiar was the destination of the exported goods. They seemed to be going to Snow Country to Yukigakure, and to the Land of Waves, possibly en-route to a cargo ship to go to Water Country, more specifically Kirigakure.

*Conall would notice the shinobi weapons and tools and realize this is unusual as he spots the clan symbol, he whispers to himself* "The Bokusou...? I hardly know anything about them, i may need some help here..." *He would right down the symbol on a piece of paper and slip it in his pocket so he has something to work with*

The mission the previous night had bugged Kaito. He had maintained silence throughout most of it, best to never let your enemy, potential or otherwise, hear you speak too much. Quality information could be easily garnered through the unprotected words spoken in the heat of a mission, or the tense moments before combat. Conall and shown himself to be one, despite his earlier outward appearance, who was dominated by his emotions. Kaito would need to keep a closer eye on him, and hopefully avoid missions with the hot head in the future. One such as him could get their team killed, or divulge crucial information to the enemy by way of their foolish lack of care for their speech.

Finding the load of weapons on its way to arm the Enemy had been surprising, since there were better ways to move such things across country lines. Plain sight however, should never be underestimated when transporting contraband, and had they not had an Uchiha with them during the mission, odds were good that they may not have discovered the shipment for what it was. Kaito cursed to himself softly that a Uchiha had helped a Senju (he was never one to let old grudges die easily) and determined that he would have to work on fine tuning his senses so as to never be so easily outclassed again.

As he sat on the lonely peak looking over his mountain home, these were the things he pondered. He decided that it was better to act alone on what he was going to have to do next. He began his trek back to the village, leaping between boulders and trees, once he descended to where they could grow to appreciable size again, and as he traveled he formed his plan. They were traveling as disguised merchants, and merchants often stopped a certain places along their routes which would have seen an increase in their business. The Grass Shinobi had mentioned that the mission was time sensitive, so Kaito would have to be quick. The man had most likely already reported back to his superiors.

He made his way to the library, and began finding maps of the Grass country. He was looking for routes along which they could easily slide a weapons caravan into the normal traffic. There was one thing which they might not have counted on however, and that was increasing the traffic of an area, left a trail of money. Merchants spent money along the way of their routes, on food, bribes, company, there was quite a list. If he could find a few routes, he could do some intel gathering along the inns and way points along the way. The owners of those establishments would have noted different people or new merchants along the routes, and they would also have seen, at least he hoped, an uptick in their business. That would be his indicator for what routes were being used, and how he could possibly track them in the future.

Now just to find the right maps, and then find a way to slip away from home for a bit and go on a mission on his own without Erin noticing....

Researching maps wouldnt be difficult for a genin as most information on trade routes and trade towns and ports were common knowledge. The main spots of trade from Grass Country would be easily pointed to established Trade Holds of the Covenant, and a few alliance towns and cities in Wind Country and Earth Country. The major places of interest though were The Land of Waves, The Land of Snow, and the Land of Rice. Each known to have connections to the Covenant, some willingly, and others... not so much. If one were to spy on these regions to learn more, it would certainly take more than a one-man team to pull it off, especially with the threats one would face in each region.
** Land of Waves -] C-Rank [Pirates, Thugs, Ect.] - Low Chance of Covenant Shinobi Operatives.
** Land of Snow -] B-Rank [Snow Ninja, Covenant Patrols, Ect.] - Moderate Chance of Covenant Shinobi Operatives.
** Rice Country -] A-Rank [Sound Ninja, Covenant Patrols, Monsters Ect.] - High Chance of Covenant Shinobi Operatives.

Armed with the information in hand, Kaito began planning the mission. It was turning out to look far more dangerous then what he had originally planned however, and that was bothering him. He had a few people he could trust, and they would have to be the ones he brought along. Going to the local market, Kaito began one of the things he did best, stalking and watching people. He chose his targets this time of the merchants who came into town, noting the way they walked, how they talked, and what they wore as well. If there were more enemy shinobi disguised as merchants, with enough careful watching he should be able to pick out the ones which didn't fit the profile he was hoping to establish in the coming days. During breaks, he prepared a mission briefing folder of sorts, to be presented to his superiors for the mission. He was still a genin after all, and a shinobi. His life was not his own to use as he wished.

After a few days of preparing the folder, he requested a meeting with a jounin so that he could present his findings, information, and the request for a mission into the Land of Waves along with two hand picked companions.

The Land of Grass was shaken this past week by a few skirmishes between what seems to be a rebel faction of Kusa Shinobi and Covenant Shinobi. This has lead to instability and a toss-up for either side to go for power in the Land of Grass.

Genin:
The skirmishes have been taking place in smaller towns known for trade between merchants along the outskirts of Grass Country and between Sound Country, and also Waterfall Country.

Chuunin:
The towns are known to you by name; Kusakaze Gai [The Town of Grassblades], Mitsukashi Villa [A small trade village near the border of Grass-Waterfall], and Gohanasai Gai [The Town of Rice]. Their significance is that they are part of the vital trade-route along the border of Grass Country.

Jounin:
Each one of those towns was a Covenant Holding with strong influence of the Bokusou Clan, a Clan known for their prowess in genjutsu with weird eyes that seem to bend reality and cause illusions to become so horrifically realistic that blow the mind... literally, though its unclear who's side they are on in the conflict brewing.

With the advent of the Chakra Beast Aberration in Kumogakure. More aberrant mutations have been showing up around the world, is this the assault plan of the Covenant? Most of the nations took theirs down but the main threat looms in Grass Country were the chakra beasts have been ranked and classified.

Rank A : Chakra Beast [Titan] - Danger Level: High.
Rank B : Chakra Beast [Yager] - Danger Level: Medium - High
Rank C : Chakra Beasts [Gemini I and Gemini II] - Danger Level : Medium

Those who seek out to fight the Chakra beasts be warned, the mission is tough, but only the strong of heart can survive. A few Alliance patrols have already been sent out, but the three remaining missions still hang untouched as it is hard to find willing hearts to go after monsters that could wreck a Village... especially in a time were Grass is about to be eclipsed in darkness.

Another piece of evil looms in the darkness of the world as the Covenant is revealed to have kidnapped the Princess of Yukigakure, and is holding her for potential experimentation and turning her into a Chakra Beast Queen, the highest level of experiments that the Chakra Beast Program can turn out. Time is ticking and the clues left by the shadows are far and few. Is Yukigakure to be left eclipsed and taken over by the Covenant? Or will heroes prove themselves and find a way to save the day.

After mission report

Mission Leader: Senju, Kaito

Action Report: Encountered Sound Nin enroute, killed, had map which led through hidden path to mission location (Map enclosed)
Entered war zone, Sound Shinobi (assumed leader of research program) unsealed two beasts from scrolls. Team engaged and defeated beasts, minimal injury to personal, wounds tended in field.
Notable Abilities: Beasts displayed tunnel vision aggression on those who harmed them first, larger beast had acidic blood which sprayed when hit in close combat, as well as ability with sound jutsu. Human at core of each creature. Assumed head researcher of program revealed himself after beasts defeated. Stated goal was reduction of Grass Village so as to engender resentment towards Alliance, and force them to focus inward to rebuild, thus removing them from the larger war effort.
Other Notes: Missing Sand Nin Yukiko Amaya was present at battle, reasons unknown. Her words revealed that she was a 'failed' experiment of the program, and she took a form much like that a jinchūriki abilities. Head researcher mentioned attempted creation of bijuu.
Suggested Actions: Tracking and capture of Yukiko Amaya, questioning of this person to garner more information on this research project. Further recon into enemy territory to locate possible back up labs and facilities.
