Elyssia's mother had very special jewllery, items passed down in her line from the time of strife, as they had always called it. Elyssia couldn't help but think of this as her eyes had wandered over them immediately before her prayers to the great spirit that had reached out to her clan, offering so much power. Enough to reach their destiny.
She hadn't been alive then, of course but she knew. It was like a genetic memory, she saw across the sea of generations to this time. Nothing before, or after. As if this one event had been seared into the memory of all the Fallen's descendants. There had been traitors of course, those whose duty it should have been to lead them to glory instead held them back.
They had all paid in full, but it had been too late. All of their technology and all of the power granted had been gone by then, the betrayal complete. Elyssia sighed, dwelling on the distant past. Remaining in supplication to the being that tradition said would return to guide them one day to dominion over all the world, all the worlds.. it had said.
Her thoughts turned to the Jewllery, items created to focus Chakra, they had been passed down only to worthy daughters. The fallen had dispersed and changed, each family going it's own way. The main branch of descent from the woman she remembered as her ancestor was always the one that acquired these items.. and she intended to do it.
I love you mother, but one day I may take those from your corpse.. she reflected
It did not always have to be so, but her mother was proud one, and would likely prefer death to simply accepting she was bested, and remaining to guide and help her daughter. That filled Elyssia with a profound joy and pride in her own lineage, there was greater honour in that.. and yet she would rather not lose her mother. She was strong.. she would help!
Elyssia sighed.. and held out her hand that the weak thoughts might be corrected.
